 2018 RITA'S CROWN VINEYARD PINOT NOIR
Rita’s Crown is one of the most highly regarded vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation located on a dramatic southwest-facing slope at the “crown” of the Santa Rita Hills. This exquisitely structured Pinot Noir offers beautiful aromas of ripe plum, boysenberry and wild strawberry complemented by hints of sage, toasted almond and a subtle ocean breeze character. The texture is rich and round with dark plum and dried cherry flavors enhanced by a touch of pink peppercorn, baking spices and dark chocolate on the finish. The wine’s authentic fruit expression, gentle tannins and bright acidity profile assure graceful development and superb cellar potential. More info. Only 247 cases produced. This will be our last vintage of Rita's Crown Pinot Noir from Ken Brown Wines.
 2020 PEAKE RANCH VINEYARD PINOT NOIR
Planted in 2012, Peake Ranch Vineyard is a 50-acre property tucked in the southeastern corner of Sta. Rita Hills where exposure to cool winds off the Pacific Ocean and low vigor soils result in superb depth of flavor in the fruit. Gorgeous aromas of red cherry, blackberry and rhubarb are complemented by subtle accents of cinnamon stick and earth. On the palate, flavors of black cherry and raspberry mingle with hints of chanterelle mushroom and spice. The elegant, airy structure is framed by sleek tannins, ensuring the wine will age gracefully in the cellar. More info. Only 130 cases produced.

For the past 35 years it has been my pleasure and honor to work alongside Ken Brown as the voice of our brand. I wrote my first newsletter in 1988, which of course was a paper edition sent via the US mail! Many, many newsletters later, the time has come for me to sunset my role at Ken Brown Wines. I would like to thank all of you for your enthusiasm, loyalty and friendship. With such great supporters, wonderful colleagues and incredible wines, this has truly been a dream job. I wish you all many more happy vintages enjoying Ken Brown Wines – I know I will be!
