' Three New Pinots Just In Time For Spring

Spring is the start of a new growing season and the end of life in barrel for many of the wines which are held in barrel for two winters. In the cellar, this means stabilizing and bottling our annual rosé and preparing final blends of our most premium Pinot Noir and Syrah lots. The exceptional quality of the 2023 vintage demanded longer barrel aging than typical to polish the robust tannins of the long ’23 growing season. We think you’ll appreciate the added care taken when we begin to release these wines in a few years time.

In the vineyard, pruning has been completed and we enter the frost season. Ken and Ben spent last week in the Sta. Rita Hills, checking out pruning, budbreak progress, and performing cluster counts which gives an initial sense of yield for the forthcoming harvest. In addition, we are always looking at new vineyard gems which we can add to the Ken Brown portfolio...

Our Latest Wine Releases

2021 Mt. Carmel Vineyard Pinot Noir

Our first bottling from this unique vineyard is surprising in its body, depth and structure. The aromas unfold in layers of dark fruits, fresh herbs and a hint of leather. The tannins give a nice backbone to the wine, framing flavors of black plums, blackberries and truffles. The long finish carries hints of vanilla and caramel from the French oak barrels. 110 cases made. More Info

2022 Rancho la Viña Vineyard Pinot Noir

Red fruits dominate the aromatics with cherries and pomegranates. The mouthfeel is rich and expansive, balanced by its lively acidity. Flavors of ripe red raspberries segue into a mouth-watering finish of red cherries, coffee and minerality. Pair with roasted game meats or a hearty Bolognese. 94 cases made. More Info

2022 Vineyard Francesca Pinot Noir

This tiny, challenging vineyard gives us an exquisitely balanced wine. The aromas present layers of fresh earth, roasted mushrooms and dark berries. The exquisite mouthfeel is silky with soft tannins. Flavors of black cherries and smoked meats intertwine with hints of cola. Pair with a grilled rack of lamb or roasted winter squash.
138 cases made. More Info
